2011 - 2012 Lottery - Kinder Selection.
Waitlist - Updated: November 9th, 2011.
Like to know more about us?
We conduct informational tours for the public and all interested families to learn more about our school and our programs. All families must attend an informational tour and complete the interest form prior to being placed on the wait list.
Steps to Enrolling at OCEAA.
1. Parent Attends a Tour: All tours are conducted in both English and Spanish and the prospective student’s parent must attend one of the following dates:
4th November, 2011
3rd February, 2012
2nd March 2012
Please note that for legal reasons it must be a parent or legal guardian who attends the tour, orientation, and enrollment. If not a parent, proof of guardianship will be required.
2. Tour Time: 9am to 11am. It lasts approximately 120 minutes from start to end. You must arrive by 8:45am in order to sign in, receive instructions and get situated. Persons will not be allowed to enter after 9:05am, no exceptions. Parking is available in the pay lots and parking meters around the school.
3. Interest Form: At the conclusion of the tour, complete an interest form if you feel OCEAA is a good match for your family. If you would like, you may download the interest form from the Forms page of our website and complete it ahead of time. If you choose to do this we ask that you turn it in completed PRIOR to the start of the tour.
Your interest form will be assigned a number and will be added to the waitlist according to grade level (names are drawn using a lottery system and added to the list this way).
Please be sure to keep track of your number as this is how you will know where on the waitlist your child is. If you lose your number, the parent must physically come to OCEAA to obtain the number assigned.
4. After the Tour: It’s a matter of waiting now. Enrollment is dependent on many factors; class size or existing OCEAA families moving out of the area for example. In the meantime, get a recommendation form completed by your child’s school teacher (available on the Forms page) and have your child prepare his or her personal essay (for 2nd through 8th grades), also keep the most recent report card and state test results handy in case you get a call from us.
5. Two-Way Bilingual Immersion (TWBI) Program: You must attend a separate 1-hour orientation. It is mandatory that the parent attend both a regular tour and the dual program orientation to enter the program - dates and times are below;
8th March, 2012 - 8:30am and 5:30pm - Spanish.
13th March, 2012 - 8:30am and 5:30pm - English.
