- Traffic and Parking Information.
The Santa Ana Traffic and Parking Enforcement Department will once again be out and about (and ticketing if need be) in the mornings for drop-off and the afternoons for pick-up over the next few weeks.
This is to try & help alleviate some of the congestion that occurs on Sycamore Street during these times.
To assist the police in this effort we ask the following of all OCEAA parents and friends; obey all road rules, follow the valet instructions in the pick-up/drop-off line, use the crosswalk and aquaint yourselves with the permissible parking areas.
Parking information is available at the front desk or on the bottom of the 'About Us' page of this website.
Thank you for your cooperation, together we can make Sycamore an efficient and safe place to transition our students.
- School Climate Box.
OCEAA values YOUR VOICE and we want to know about your opinions, suggestions, and/or report of problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will have a suggestion box called 'SCHOOL CLIMATE BOX' located on the receptionist desk in the front office. Here you can deposit your completed school climate report form. This form is available by clicking on the link below or you can always pick one up by the school climate box.
If you have any questions, please contact Gabriela Gonzalez, 714-558-2787 x398.

- Playground Safety.
As you know, our playground is all hard blacktop and we have seen too many trips and falls this year so we are implementing, starting Wednesday January 6, 2010, the following changes to our recess and lunchtime activities and procedures in order to reduce these unnecessary injuries.
* NO TAG or other running games across the playground with the exception of running games played within a court area - for example, chain tag or capture the flag.
* Same rules & expectations for recesses & lunch times.
*
Dodgeball, tag etc, will not be allowed at recess.
Students, teachers, and supervisors can respect the same expectations all day.
Please support our safe and active playground!
- Box Tops for Education.
Did you know that OCEAA received a check for $336.30 for the box tops collected during the months of September and October 2009? All thanks to everyone who sent in their box tops clipped at home - wow!
This money is used in a myriad of ways to directly enhance our students' education. For example, just those two months raised enough money to pay for items such as educational software for the entire student body, or a digital video camera for class projects, or buses to take two classes on a field trip, or to upgrade our playground equipment.
As you can see, every little bit helps!
During these strained economic times this is an easy way to help OCEAA maintain our high standard of educational excellence, so please remember to keep collecting and sending in those box tops.
Box tops have an expiration date so send them in as soon as possible. Your child can give your box tops to his or her teacher to forward to Mrs. Gabriela Gonzalez for processing, or call FSO at 714-558-2787 x343 if you have any questions.
Thank you all for your support!
