Connecting the Dots for Success ~ Wednesday, 5th October, 2011
The wet and cold weather didn’t stop us from holding our ‘Connecting the Dots for Success’ event held at OCEAA on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. There was much going on throughout the OCEAA dining hall as various community organizations such as UCI Health Care, WTLC, Wells Fargo, and the Boys and Girls Club provided useful information to attending families about the different services that each has to offer and teachers from all the grade levels were present providing techniques for parents to help their children complete their homework.
Families also received enrollment information about local high schools like Nova Early College Academy, Santa Ana High School, and Orange County High School of the Arts in order to prepare their child for the transition from OCEAA to high school.
Lastly, we had many lucky families that walked away with some great finds in our Orca Exchange which also took place on this night. Not only did some kids get new and gently used fashion for school, some got school supplies as well!
