Dr. Kimberly Barraza Lyons

President ~ Presidenta

Bio

Kimberly Barraza Lyons serves as President of the Board and has served on the Board since June 2007. The daughter of educators, Dr. Barraza Lyons has been involved in education and public schools her whole life. A former Orange County Novice Teacher of the Year, Kimberly previously coordinated the secondary credentialing program at UC Irvine and was a researcher for UCLA and the Center for Teaching Quality investigating the effects of pre-service education and professional learning communities on teacher retention. In addition to presenting at national education conferences, she has co-author a book and numerous articles on the topic of urban teacher education and retention. Kimberly a teacher leader and board member of Project COACH, a professional development organization for Southern California language teachers, and is a BTSA mentor for the Orange County Department of Education. Dr. Barraza Lyons received both her bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature and teaching credentials from UC Irvine, and a PhD in Education from UCLA. She lives and works in Santa Ana, currently teaching and mentoring at the Orange County School of the Arts, and both her children love attending OCEAA.

Dr. Alfonso Bustamante

Bio

Alfonso Bustamante is currently Vice -President and has served as a Member of the Board since August 2007. Dr. Bustamante is currently employed as a Pediatric Psychologist at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Bustamante also currently serves as a Commissioned Officer in the Biomedical Science Corps in the United States Air Force Reserve. He has vast teaching experience including instructing at Santiago Canyon College, National University, the County of Orange ---Health Care Agency, Alliant International University, the county of Los Angeles ---Department of Children and Family Services, and the National Training Systems Institute. Dr. Bustamante has affiliations with numerous professional and community organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the National Honor Society in Psychology, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and County of Orange Multi-Ethic Task Force. Dr. Bustamante received a bachelor’s degree from National University, a master’s degree from the California School of Professional Psychology and National University, and a Doctor of Psychology degree from the California School of Professional Psychology.

Actualmente, Alfonso Bustamante es el Vice-Presidente de la mesa directiva. El ha servido como miembro de la mesa directiva desde agosto del 2007. El Dr. Bustamante actualmente se desemplea psicólogo pediátrico en el Hospital de Niños del Condado de Orange. Dr. Bustamante actualmente funge como oficial en el Cuerpo de Ciencias Biomédicas de la Reserva de la Fuerza Aérea Estados Unidos. Roberta A. Kraus

Bio

Roberta Kraus serves as the Secretary of the Board and has served on the Board since August 2008 Ms. Kraus graduated from California State University, Fullerton (B.A., 1981) and Western State University College of Law (J.D., 1984). She was admitted to the California Bar in 1985. Ms. Kraus is an experienced litigator, handling a wide variety of matters in state and federal courts, at trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Ms. Kraus has an extensive litigation background and has handled cases involving dangerous conditions of public property, civil rights, vehicular accidents, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, construction and inverse condemnation. She has an active practice focusing on motion and appellate work. Ms. Kraus has also taught legal writing courses at Western State University College of Law and the Paralegal program at University of California, Irvine.

Roberta Kraus actúa como Secretaria de la Junta y ha sido miembro del Consejo desde agosto de 2008 la Sra. Kraus se graduó de la Universidad Estatal de California, Fullerton (BA, 1981) y Western State University College of Law (JD, 1984). Fue admitida en el Colegio de Abogados de California en 1985. Boris Molina

Treasurer ~ Tesorero

Bio

Mr. Molina served as a Co-Treasurer of the Board from July 2011 and took over as Treasurer in July 2012. Mr. Molina holds an MBA and a BA in Economics from Chapman University. He also completed the Film and Television program at Orange Coast College. Mr. Molina currently partners in a small venture firm in Downtown Santa Ana that emphasizes real estate and finance. He also co-owns and participates in running a studio in the Artist Village District.

El Sr. Molina se desempeñó como Co-Tesorero de la mesa Directiva a partir de julio del 2011 y asumió el cargo de tesorero en julio de 2012. El Sr. Molina tiene un MBA y una licenciatura en Economía de la Universidad de Chapman. Además, completó el programa de Cine y Televisión en el Orange Coast College. El Sr. Molina actualmente es socio de una pequeña empresa de riesgo compartido en el centro de Santa Ana que hace hincapié en bienes raíces y finanzas. Scott Overpeck

Bio

Scott Overpeck is a creative leader with a heart for contextualizing movements of justice, advocacy and compassion to his surroundings. He is the founder of Intersection, a consultancy advising social enterprises and non profits on communications as it relates to marketing, fund raising and commerce. In this capacity he has helped organizations from the startup stage all the way on up to established $50m organizations raise more money, craft better programs and be better communicators. Additionally he sits on the board of Orange County Educational Arts Academy; helped found Laundry Love Santa Ana; leads 511, a small creative community in Santa Ana; and is on the Diversity Advisory Council for Mind Research Institute. In both his roles as a leader in changemaking organizations and a consultant to changemakers, he is always an outspoken advocate for better communication, design and storytelling as well as always keeping real life humans at the center of every decision making process. By continually immersing himself in all sides of the social change sectors, he is able to bring fresh insights to the table. Scott is a contributing author to Create Culture: thoughts on branding for humans and is the author of the upcoming Create Good: the case for creativity in the social sector.
