1. Adventure Playground – Irvine
open daily 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The Adventure Playground is a drop-in facility and available for everyone to enjoy. Explore Adventure Playground’s many amenities, including:
- Tree House
- Sensory garden
- Climbing poles and stumps
- Slides
- Art wall
- Kids fort zone
- Meadows and natural play areas
2. Centennial Farm – Costa Mesa
open Mon.-Fri., 1-4 p.m.; Sat. & Sun., 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Centennial Farm, a three-acre working farm, is home to fruit and vegetable gardens and an array of livestock. Our animal educators and their human counterparts are here all year long to teach us about nutrition and our agricultural roots.
3. Environmental Nature Center – Newport Beach
open Mon.-Fri., 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Sat. & Sun., 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The ENC features 15 native California ecosystems, a Nature Museum packed with neat things to touch and investigate, a butterfly habitat (seasonal).
4. Peter Mary Muth Interpretive Center– Newport Beach Back Bay
open Tue.-Sun., 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
This 10,000 square foot educational facility was built into the side of one of the bluffs on the north side of the Bay. It offers panoramic views of the Bay.
5. Vans Skatepark – Orange
SKATEBOARDING: open Mon., Wed. and Fri., 10am to 10pm; Tue. and Thur., 10am – 6pm; Sat. 10am – 10pm; Sun. 10am – 5pm
BMX ONLY: open Tue. and Thur., 6pm – 10pm; Sun. 5pm – 9pm
This skatepark, located at The Outlets at Orange, offers a Main Street course, a Combo Pool, a Warm up course, a Mini Ramp and an Outdoor course.
6. Oak Canyon Nature Center – Anaheim Hills
Consisting of three adjoining canyons, four miles of hiking trails traverse one of the few remaining areas of oak woodland and coastal sage scrub in our region.

Not free, but the Discovery Cube down the street from OCEAA has its Bubblefest show going on now through April 8th. It’s a super fun event with lots of fun and science involved!!!
